		<description>WOW!  I really wish that our school newspaper were that concerned about giving voice to more than just the editors&#039; and two staff writers&#039; status quo biases.  The paid advertisement are from the same people, all Roman Catholic concerns.  

While my story about a new faculty member went by the wayside even after I&#039;d submitted it on time, they allow two people to write columns on subjects that they have no formal training or education about, one of them entailing unsafe practices.</description>

		<description>As a college student, I find that this habit of only doing what it takes to get an item checked off my list has been ingrained into my head. Not by my teachers or mentors, but by my own repetition. Because of this, it is very hard to get out of it (too bad extra effort is never an excuse). For a lot of us, the standards in High School were such that the bare minimum cut it. In order for us that were in that boat to succeed, a new pattern of excellence must be taught and practiced incessantly. It does not matter whether or not the work ethic is there if the standard of work is sub-par.</description>
